With a spoon and a quill

What did a prehistoric man, an Egyptian Pharaoh, a roman legionnaire and a medieval peasant have in common with every person alive today? Cooked or not, food is the common denominator that connects all humanity since the dawn of its time.

Working in various restaurants of different cultural background, I was always curious on how did we get to this gastronomic Babel tower when, as everything suggests, we share a common point of origin. With research as my second nature acquired during my classic literature studies and my love of gastronomy, in the way Ferran Andria put it, I decided to immerse myself in the exploration of humans culinary history.

I created this blog as my time capsule with the assistance of my brother Yianni, and I invite you to this journey of gastronomic research in places far far away in space and time!
