It is an Italian PDO since 1996. Montasio is a semi-hard to hard, cow’s milk cheese produced at the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the provinces of Belluno and Treviso as well as at the neighbouring communes of the provinces of Padua and Venice.
Montasio Vecchio is the matured version (more than 12 months).
